10 Time-saving Tips in the Morning for Busy Moms

When you are a busy mom, be that having to go out for work or take care of your children all day, your mornings can be rather chaotic. Every minute is spent doing something to get your day going. With everything that needs done, those minutes can become shorter and shorter. Here are some simple time saving tips to make your morning go smoothly.

Electric Toothbrush

While this is not too time consuming, every second counts in the morning when your’e in a rush. I have noticed that an electric toothbrush gives me much cleaner teeth compared to a manual toothbrush. I end up spending less time brushing and not having to go back in because I feel like I didn’t get them clean enough. Some electric toothbrushes have a built in timer so you know when you should stop brushing.

Get a Simple Beauty Routine Down

Makeup can be pretty time consuming. Try going makeup-free when you can, and when you do want to wear makeup try going minimal on it. Figure out a daily makeup routine that you can have done in minutes. Most days where I don’t do much I either go makeup-free or wear 3-4 products.

10 Minute Tidy

Every night before I go to bed I like to go around the house and do a 10 minute tidy. I make sure the dishwasher is running, things are picked up, laundry is gathered, and whatever else needs done. Waking up to a clean house is going to make you less stressed and better prepared for the day ahead.

Layout Clothes Night Before

Always have your entire outfit picked out and ready to go. There have been many times where I spent minutes and was nearly late because I couldn’t find a pair of socks!

Follow a Sleep Routine

Going to bed around the same time and waking up the same time everyday is going to make getting up less of struggle for you. Your body will become used to the routine. The important part of this is to follow this routine even on an day off.

Pack Lunch Night Before

Not having to think about lunch the morning is another great timesaver. Have everything packed up and in a tupperware container ready to go for the next day so you don’t have to waste time in the kitchen the next morning or spend money on lunch that day.

Prepare Breakfast at Night

While you are getting your lunch put together prepare an easy breakfast as well so you can just grab-and-go. Something like overnight oats is an easy option.

Shower in the Evening

Showering the day before will easily save you at least twenty-minutes or more depending on if you wash your hair.

Always Keep Things in the Same Spot

I am guilty of always putting my keys in a random spot. When the morning comes around I am scrambling to figure out where I put it so I’m not late. I end up being frazzled and it sets a bad tone for the rest of the day. Always put your key, purse, and whatever other items you need for the day in the same spot.

Take 5 Minutes

When you first wakeup in the morning take 5 minutes to just relax. Practice mindfulness and let yourself be present in the moment before all the craziness of the day starts.
